Our Goal
To build 100 dog houses, fully equipped with bed, food bowl, water bucket, toy, treats, food, and a new collar and leash by the end of 2009.

Dog House Materials
Wood - Usable scrap wood, pallets, boards, plywood, trim etc.
Roofing - Anykind of material to keep a dog cool and dry
Nails/Screws etc.
Paint and Painting Supplies
Cinderblocks, gravel, quickcrete for foundations below the dog houses
Flooring - tiles, vynal, Formica, carpet rements etc.


Care Packages
Blankets, sheets, beds
Water Buckets ( look in Walmart auto sections for big buckets under $2 each)
Stainless steel food bowls (we can purchase these new also for $3 each online)
Toys (gently used or new)
Treats
Food
Collars/Leashes (very gently used or new - we can purchase these for $1- $3 each online)
Flee & Tick preventative - new unopened topical or shampoo


Monetary
Your donation, whether a dollar or a hundred will help us buy the necessary items not donated.  Many of the items in the care package can be bought cheaply in bulk.  We would also like to offer spay/neuter certificates and medical care. 

Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many things to do!   We hope you will share your talents, time, and resources to create a better life for 500 soon to be lucky dogs on the island.  Whether it is an afternoon or a little bit of spare time each week, we are grateful to all our volunteers for their Aloha! 


Organization
We are looking for a few people to help us organize. If you have experience in one of these areas and are willing to donate your time and talents please contact us at pawprintsmail@gmail.com.

Advertising Coordinator - This volunteer will help us find ways to advertise through flyers, emails, websites, local shops and groups etc.

Carpenter - This volunteer will supervise the putting together kits of wood and supplies to build each dog house.  We hope to have volunteers that can build the dog houses at home in their free time.  This person will be available to help and give advice when needed in the building process.



General Volunteers
If you have a little time or a lot.  Computer skills, carpenter skills, transportation, or just want to help in general we need you!  Here are some of the opportunities.  Please let us know what you have time for and are willing to do and we will find a place for you! 

Transportation - Pick up donations big and small and deliver to storage. Pick up and drop off flyers and donation boxes.

Dog House Builders and Kit Assemblers - Help put the materials together to build a dog house or receive instructions and materials to build a house at your convience.

Storage Locations - Do you have an extra closet for dog beds?  A corner of your yard or garage for recycled wood? 

Care Box Assemblers - Take the list of items each dog will receive and put them together in a box to be delivered with the dog house.
